On Wednesday, April 26th, Junaluska Elementary School hosted a volunteer brunch for those individuals who have donated their time and efforts to the school this year. Over 100 invitations were sent and a large number attended the event. Student Council members escorted and helped the volunteers through the school to the media center where the brunch was held. Students performed for the volunteers, read poems of encouragement, and wrote Thank You cards for them. A catered brunch was provided. Flowers and seeds were given as a token of thanks. “Our school could not be what it is without the support of our volunteers,” Mrs. Stiles, volunteer coordinator and teacher, said during the brunch. Mrs. Sherri Arrington, Principal, addressed and thanked all the volunteers for all they have done for the children and the school. Joy Sollie, Guidance Counselor, organized this event and was recognized by Mrs. Arrington and Mrs. Stiles.
