Congratulations to Mrs. Jennifer Mullins

Junaluska Elementary School congratulates Mrs. Jennifer Mullins, 5th Grade teacher, on receiving the Bright Ideas Grant from Haywood EMC.  This grant focuses on science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).  Mrs. Mullins wrote her grant for Ozobots, which are robots that students can program to do certain things.  ‘Once Upon an Ozbot’ will engage students through storytelling, coding and motion graphing. Working in groups, students will create a story and program Ozbot devices to act out their stories. Once ‘Ozbots are in motion’ the class will use motion detectors to record and graph their tales on distance/motion graphs.  Mr. Ken Thomas from Haywood EMC came and awarded the grant to our school.  Congratulations, Mrs. Mullins!
