Run/Walk-A-Thon

Our 2015 Run/Walk-A-Thon kicked off last Friday with an exciting pep rally hosted by the Tuscola varsity basketball team. You should have seen our sweet students! They were cheering, clapping and having a great time. They are pumped up for this event which is one of PTA’s biggest fundraisers of the year.

Students in grades 3-5 walk today, Monday, November 9 and students in grades K-2 walk tomorrow, Tuesday, November 10. Parents are welcome to come to school and walk with their child. An agenda should have been in your child’s backpack last week indicating what time each class will be running/walking.

If you are unable to make it during the day, we are hosting an evening event tomorrow (Tuesday) from 6:00-7:30 where parents can walk or run laps that will be included in their child’s class total. Your children can join you tomorrow night, but only laps walked/ran by friends and family will count since students walked/ran their laps during the school day.

We have exciting prizes this year for four of our students. The student in K-2 who runs/walks the most laps and the student in K-2 who raises the most money will each win an Eightbit Swivel Car. The student in 3-5 who runs/walks the most laps and the student in 3-5 who raises the most money will each win a Razor A4 Kick Scooter. For the four classroom winners, the entire class will win a trip to the Rec Center Pool in early December.

Let’s all work together to raise money for this event. All proceeds go directly back into JES for technology, books and other supplies. All money must be turned in by Monday, November 16. As always, thank you so much for your support!
