School Quilt inspired by Fiber Artist Tula Pink
2nd-5th Grade Art
Every student grades 2nd through 5th started off the school year by creating a quilt square to be added to a school collaborative quilt. Students learned about FIBER artist, Tula Pink, a popular Instagram artist who makes quilts in addition to being a professional illustrator and fabric designer. Students learned about ANALOGOUS COLORS, colors next to each other on the color wheel, to create a color scheme for their quilt square. Then they created a diamond pattern inspired by one of Tula Pink’s quilts.
