The JES library, custodial team, and NC Master Gardeners worked together to create an engaging StoryWalk® in the beautiful JES Garden. “The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. Storywalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson.” This initiative combines literacy and reading with active movement where children can walk to each post numbered 1-20 at their own pace in order to MOVE and READ through the garden! The stories (often leveled at 1st-2nd grade) will change every few months and the readings will also be introduced and discussed in library class.
